Pillar Innovation Awards

On November 12, 2009 - Special Olympics Ontario / London was represented at the Pillar Innovation Awards at the London Convention Centre.

Our Athlete Ambassador program were nominated in the Community Innovation Award.

Although we did not win the top honours, the Ambassadors Program was well received and recognized for the tremendous work done to date by all the athletes and mentors.

Thank you for being an example in the community and for the work that you do to strengthen the nonprofit sector and make a difference.

Your group of young adults is a wonderful inspiration to all.

On a personal note:

I was very moved when learning more about Special Olympics London and having the opportunity to meet many of these unique and talented individuals at the Innovation Awards last week.
I have a family member with Down syndrome who has taught me so much about life and the group from Special Olympics London was a reminder for me about overcoming challenges and making a difference. Thank you for that.
